obsession vs love

American Heritage Dictionary defines following:
obsess-to preoccupy the mind excessively; to have the mind excessively preoccupied with a single emotion or topic.
love-an intense desire and atraction. (one of many definition)
-but this is the definition we will latch onto when in actuality we are obsessing...and obsession is not truly an act of love.
